Ripon Flower Club is a small friendly club, which aims to promote wider interest and knowledge in the art of traditional and contemporary flower arranging.

Our members are at all levels of experience in their skills and knowledge, but share a common enthusiasm in their love of flowers and plant material. Within the Club more experienced members support and help those who are keen to learn new skills. Members regularly participate in community activities such as charity events, flower festivals and horticultural shows.

The Club provides a varied and interesting programme, which includes demonstrations by well-known experts, workshops presented by talented instructors, practice sessions, lectures and visits to local garden and festivals. Our meeting in August is held in Ripon Cathedral when we participate in our annual St Wilfrid’s competition which is supported by the Very Reverend John Dobson. The Club has a long association with the Cathedral and this year we will be supporting the guild in decorating the interior for the Ripon Cathedral Festival – ‘Revealed’. In recent years the Club has organised several flower festivals including ‘Let a Thousand Flowers Bloom’ at Ripon Cathedral and a display of period floral designs at Newby Hall’s ‘Spring Plant Fair’.

At Ripon Flower Club we are a ‘hands-on’ organisation encouraging our members to practice and enjoy the art of flower arranging, and succeed in giving everyone a complete insight into the wonderful world that revolves around our floral heritage.
